After learning about the yearly cycle of an apple tree, we explored different kinds of apples using our senses of sight, touch, and taste.

While reading to self, students mark their favorite parts of stories with sticky notes.

Then during partner reading, they share their favorite parts with each other.

Sunflower Project:

We learned about Vincent van Gogh and how he liked to paint real things that he could see with his own eyes, including sunflowers.  Then, we explored sunflowers by using our senses of sight, hearing, and touch.  Next, we drew sunflowers and painted them.  Then we wrote sunflower poems.
